Speechmatics exhibited at its very first NAB Show in Las Vegas from 9-12 April. NAB Show is the largest event for the media, entertainment and technology industry, with thousands of professionals showcasing cutting-edge technology throughout the week. The team demonstrated Speechmatics’ new real-time ASR feature, Custom Dictionary. The feature allows users to quickly add context-specific words to Speechmatics’ dictionary simply via text. At the stand, we showcased just how easy it was to use, and how accurate the transcription results were with it in use, especially for company names, place names or unusual names.
It wasn’t a surprise that everyone that passed by the booth was absolutely captivated by Custom Dictionary. Some personal highlights include comments such as: “Wow that’s rare, ASR never transcribes that name right usually!” and “You guys must be having a great show, half the people in here seem to be using you…” We were very excited to see a number of key partners at the show, demonstrating new innovations with Speechmatics’ ASR technology integrated within their systems, including Broadcast Bionics, Screen Systems and Tedial Media. Watch our show round-up with Tedial Media. The team at Broadcast Bionics commented, “Speechmatics has enabled us to unlock all of the unstructured content in broadcasting and reach entirely new audiences… By transcribing the studio, we start to make it fit for the internet. Preserving the future of radio through the spoken document.” It is humbling to hear how our technology isn’t only helping individual companies, it is truly revolutionising industries.
