A Simpler Way to Pay: Speechmatics Is Moving to Credits

From 1 August 2026, Speechmatics will be moving to a new credit-based billing system. This is the first step towards a simpler way to manage your usage: one credit balance you can put towards any Speechmatics product.

What's changing on 1 August 2026

Credit-based billing. Your account will show a credit balance, and usage across products will draw down from it. One credit is worth one US dollar. Prices on our pricing page are shown in US dollars.

Credit grants. If you're a self-service customer who signed up before 1 August 2026, you'll receive a one-time transitional credit of $25 as part of the move to credit-based billing. Credits can be spent across any Speechmatics product.

This one-time credit replaces the old free hours/minutes offering with a single, flexible credit balance.

What's staying the same

• The same prices. Our model prices are not changing.

• The same discounts. The volume discount and the model training discount (a reduced rate for usage you allow us to use to improve our models) both carry over unchanged.

• Your integrations. Nothing will change in how you call our APIs. Existing integrations will keep working, and we don't expect any service disruption.

Do I need to do anything?

No. The switch happens automatically, and there's nothing to set up. If you experience any issues following the change, you can reach out to our support team for help.
