From 1 August 2026, Speechmatics will be moving to a new credit-based billing system. This is the first step towards a simpler way to manage your usage: one credit balance you can put towards any Speechmatics product.

What's changing on 1 August 2026

Credit-based billing. Your account will show a credit balance, and usage across products will draw down from it. One credit is worth one US dollar. Prices on our pricing page are shown in US dollars.

Free-tier accounts. The monthly 50 hours of free transcription is being replaced with a one-time grant of $25 in free credits, which can be spent across any Speechmatics product. This means the recurring monthly allowance goes away, but the credits are not locked to a single product.

What's staying the same

The same prices. Our model prices are not changing.
The same discounts. The volume discount and the model training discount (a reduced rate for usage you allow us to use to improve our models) both carry over unchanged.
Your integrations. Nothing will change in how you call our APIs. Existing integrations will keep working, and we don't expect any service disruption.
